Our team of Brisbane plumbers hold open plumbing licenses with special endorsements for testing and maintaining backflow prevention devices and thermostatic mixing valves.

Our highly experienced plumbers are on call Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm should you have an emergency with your backflow prevention device or TMV.

What is a backflow prevention device and what does it do?

Backflow prevention devices are used to safeguard the mains water supply against harmful contaminants. These devices include single check valves, dual check valves, vacuum breaker valves and reduced pressure zone devices (RPZ valves). In the event of water on your property reverse siphoning into the water main, your backflow device will prevent the reverse flow of water into the drinking main.

How often do backflow prevention devices need testing?

Backflow prevention devices need to be tested every 12 months in accordance with councils and state legislation in Queensland. Testing of the device/s must be done by a licensed plumbing contractor like us, who holds backflow prevention endorsements. A test report is then issued directly to your council to certify the device/s have been tested and certified.

We are qualified to maintain your backflow prevention device.

What is a thermostatic mixing valve?

A thermostatic mixing valve (TMV) blends hot water with cold water to ensure a preselected temperature. TMV’s are primarily installed in hospitals, nursing homes and health care facilities to prevent scalding.

How often do TMVs need testing?

TMV’s require servicing on a regular basis to reduce the possibility of valve failure. We can implement a regular servicing schedule and submit a maintenance report upon completion. Our licensed plumbers can also repair and replace all types of thermostatic mixing valves.

We are qualified to service thermostatic mixing valves.
